Colored Lines

Dimitris Hatzantonakis in this first solo exhibition on his native island of Kythera, focuses on lines - key element of his work. This time around, he uses lines as trenches which create white earthy surfaces of marble dust and reveal deeper coloured substrates. The colourful grooves emerging on the surface correlate in the texture; demonstrating how the sub-textural arrangement influences structure and rhythm. Although these trenches, as units retain their autonomy, they form homogeneous assemblages, indicating references to social patterns, documenting how their connection creates interactional behaviours.
