Tears in the Dessert

Driven by the experience of immigration, the Cypriot-born painter creates abstract, mixed media landscapes. Within these landscapes, organic forms appear, as parts of a body, sometimes being timid, other times dominating the landscape. Her paintings, almost monochromatic, have a symbolic and dual meaning; i.e. yellow expresses the melancholy of civilization or optimism deriving from nature. Christella Demetriou has held exhibitions in Europe and Australia, while many of the works presented at “follow your art” gallery, are exhibited for the first time.
