Aliki Rigou

Aliki Rigou was born in Athens. She studied Painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts as a student of R. Papaspyrou and T. Patraskidis, Mosaic with D. Aggelidou and Printing with V. Kazakos. She has presented 5 solo exhibitions and has participated in many group exhibitions in Greece and abroad. She is a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece and of the International Association of Contemporary Mosaicists. She shares her time between Athens and Kythera. Her dedication to the mosaic technique constitutes an internal dialogue between matter and experience. By combining materials such as watercolor paper and marble she attempts to unify the ephemeral with the eternal into a harmonious whole. She describes her work as an attempt at mapping, by realistic and intellectual observation.
